Bo Hee Kim takes new chief of staff role at The New York Times

Posted

I am excited to announce that Bo Hee Kim has taken on a new role as my Chief of Staff, supporting my  work in the newsroom and the business. Bo was the first hire I made when we formed the Audience Mission, and she has played a pivotal role in shaping and supporting its strategy and operations in the early stages. She is a strong collaborator and communicator, convening cross-functional teams in a way that brings out the best in her colleagues. She’s a leader who infuses her work with integrity and fairness. She has helped strengthen and knit together our data, newsroom and product teams and steered them to accomplish our biggest goals.

In this new role, Bo will partner with me to drive strategy, operations and execution of our most critical priorities across my teams.

Before joining Audience, Bo was a director on Newsroom Strategy, where she played an integral role in shaping The Times’s D.E.I. strategy, its approach to product collaboration, and advancing our coverage strategy. Her previous roles, which brought together product and news, include serving as the Director of Network Development at Vox Media and as a product manager at Storify.

I am confident that Bo’s experience, strategic thinking and collaborative leadership style will drive the success of our data and audience initiatives, and I look forward to continuing to work with her closely in this new role.

Please join me in congratulating Bo on her new position.
