An Oregon Department of Transportation worker makes his way down the hillside of the Riverside Fire. More than a year after the 138,000-acre fire scorched the forests near Estacada, Oregon, Highway 224 reopened on Sunday, May 1. Nineteen miles of Highway 224 just east of Estacada had been closed since the fall of 2020. The Oregon Department of Transportation had been working since the fire to clean up the area along Highway 224 and reopen it to traffic. more
